Piarom Dates (Maryami Dates) is another Iranian semi-dried dates fruit. Piarom are grown organically and there is no chemicals in the process. Piarom grows in Hajiabad city of Hormozgan province in southern city of Iran. it’s color is black-Brown and size’s is from 3-5 Cm.
Maryami dates or chocolate dates is known as Piarom dates are perhaps one of the most delicious semi-dried varieties of dates in the world. The dates are unique in taste and appearance and are considered one of the most expensive dates in local market in Iran.
It is the most costly variety of dates in the world, like Medjool Dates. The moisture of Piarom dates is under 15 % that can be kept at room temperature for more than 1 year.
It is fleshy and Semi-Dry containing of 15% moisture. These are usually harvested in October at the beginning of autumn and continues till the end of November. With dark brown color, Piarom has thin skin, low sugar content. For this reason it is not at all harmful for the diabetic people.
Piarom date is widely considered the most delicious of all semi-dry date varieties. Piarom Date is replete with protein and other mineral substances and has high-quality nutritious value. Fruit Calories are made up of mostly simple carbohydrates, some proteins, and very little fat. 100 grams of dried- date Piarom has about 300 calories and is composed of about 70% carbohydrates, 2.2% protein, 0.6% fat while fresh dates Piarom contain about 160 calories.
